Nicole Kidman Confirms Aquaman
Nicole Kidman is suiting up for Aquaman.
Kidman will be playing the mother to Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, Queen Atlanna.
“The reason why I love [Aquaman] is James Wan is an Australian, and I’ve followed his career since he started. He’s a really good friend of mine, and he offered to let me play Queen Atlanna,” Nicole Kidman told EW.com. “As soon as he said I could wear mother-of-pearl and be a mermaid warrior, I said I’m done. Please. If there is one thing I have to do in my life, I have to be that. [Laughs] Because, you’ve got to have some fun.”
As noted, Aquaman isn't Nicole Kidman's first venture into the world of DC as she played Bruce Wayne’s girlfriend, Dr. Chase Meridian, in 1995’s Batman Forever.
Aquaman has a December 21, 2018 release also starring Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm the Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, with Temuera Morrison rumored as the father, Thomas Curry.
