Maisie Williams & Anya Taylor-Joy To Star In X-Men: New Mutants Movie
Confirming earlier rumors, now it's being reported Anya Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams will star in the X-Men: New Mutants movie.
THR reports Anya Taylor-Joy, known for Split and The Witch, will play Magik, described as "a girl who has learned sorcery and uses teleportation discs to travel. She is also the sister of Colossus, an X-Man who appeared in Deadpool."
Maisie Williams, of Game of Thrones, will play Wolfsbane: "a girl struggling to reconcile her religious beliefs with her power to turn into a wolf."
Casting is also underway for Moonstar and Sunspot.
X-Men: New Mutants has an April 13, 2018 release date directed by Josh Boone and looks to start filming in July as it is now in pre-production.
It's said X-Men: New Mutants will: "focus on the angst-driven adventures of a diverse group of teens that include Native American Danielle Moonstar, Scots girl Wolfsbane, Brazilian ladies man Sunspot, a Kentuckian code-named Cannonball, and Russian teen Magik. Also in the mix will be an alien named Warlock."
