No surprise, but it's learned Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has been rated PG-13.

The MPAA gave Guardians of the Galaxy 2 a PG-13 rating for: "sequences of sci-fi action and violence, language, and brief suggestive content."

It's also noted Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has an alternate title, which may be for foreign audiences, with "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Level Up."

For reference, the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie received a PG-13 rating for: "intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and for some language."

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" has a May 5, 2017 release directed by James Gunn starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn. New cast members include Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell.

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" continues the team's adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill's true parentage.
