Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Gets A Bad Review!
If you happen to follow Fandango, you might be one to think there is some sort of Disney conspiracy as all the Marvel films rank high while the DC movies are always "rotten."
Honestly, it's kind of hard to think there might not be any truth to the thought as Avengers 2 and Civil War got high scores from reviewers while Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad absolutely tanked: point being is the four movies are really no different and are equally just as mediocre or plain bad.
Up next for Marvel is Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
Reviewers loved the first movie, giving it a whopping 91% fresh. I've been only able to watch the movie once - in the theater - as I was put off by Gunn's goofy approach, which is so dissimilar to the Abnett and Lanning comics. Sure, I get why Gunn went the way he did, which was to cater to the masses, but I would rather have something a lot more serious.
That said, some of the press have taken to Twitter to offer up thoughts on Guardians of the Galaxy 2 as screenings have taken place. A couple reviews in particular aren't "glowing" Marvel reviews like all the others. Tracking Board and noted film journalist Jeff Sneider offers up his opinion in that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 wasn't all that good--giving it only 2.5 out of 4 stars. Likewise, Simon Thompson says he didn't love Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
We only have about two weeks to find out for ourselves!
Hate to be the Voice of Reason, but GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 isn't as good as the first. What felt fresh now feels forced. 2.5/4 stars— Jeff Sneider (@TheInSneider) April 18, 2017
So, just seen #GuardiansoftheGalaxyVol2. My thoughts? Well, I am Groot. That's about all I can say.— Simon Thompson (@ShowbizSimon) April 18, 2017
#GuardiansoftheGalaxyVol2. It was okay, I didn't love it. It lacks a lot of what made the original so tight. Drax and Groot are highlights.— Simon Thompson (@ShowbizSimon) April 18, 2017
