David Mazouz Tackles Batman on Gotham, Ben Affleck & Heath Ledger
David Mazouz plays the young Bruce Wayne in the series, which offers a different take than the comic books, but an appearance by DC's Dark Knight could at the least be a possibility.
"I don't know. I think it depends on how long the show goes for," Mazouz filled in Discussing Film. "I think it depends on what they'll allow us to do. I don't know if that's what the writers want to end on that note. I don't know if anybody knows. I hope so. I mean my personal preference, obviously."
While David Mazouz can't confirm Batman in Gotham, the 16-year-old actor offers how he would want Batman introduced.
"People ask me how I would want the show to end. I would love to see the show end with Bruce Wayne in a bat suit on the top of the Gotham building looking down with the Bat signal on top of Gotham central and everybody, not just Bruce, but everybody kind of coming into the characters they are supposed to be," Mazouz offered. "Enigma as the full blown Riddler. Oswald as a full blown Penguin. Selina as a full blown Catwoman. Gordon as Commissioner with a mustache and glasses. Kind of everybody coming into the person that they are supposed to be. That they are destined to be. Kind of at the same time as the series finale, I guess it would be," Mazouz explained. "And I would love for the last shot to be Bruce putting on the bat suit. That's just my personal preference. But I don't know if that is allowed or realistic. I don't know what is actually going to happen."
Speaking of Batman, David Mazouz also offers his thoughts on Ben Affleck in the DCEU and the Justice League movie.
"I love it. I love Justice League," Mazouz said. "I walked out of that movie and thought it was a fun movie. It really felt like a roller coaster, and it was so much fun. I love Gal Gadot, she is so cool. I loved Jason Momoa as Aquaman. I loved Ezra Miller as Flash, and I especially loved Ben Affleck as Batman. I thought they all did an amazing job. I think he is a really strong Batman. Kind of this idea that Batman has been doing this for years and years and years. I loved everything about it."
David Mazouz also says that Heath Ledger is his favorite version of Joker.
"I hate to be unoriginal, but I have to say Heath Ledger," Mazouz said. "I think he did such an incredible, incredible job, and to me that was the first time seeing the Joker watching the second of the trilogy of the Christopher Nolan movies. That was my first encounter with the Joker. That was the first time I ever knew who the Joker was, was watching that movie... I was so scared. Heath Ledger freaked me out. I always had the image of him walking away from the hospital in the nurses uniform, and it would explode, kind of ingrained mind mind. I think that is always going to be the most iconic image of the Joker."
Gotham returns this Spring and airs Thursdays at 9pm EST on FOX.
