Cosmic Book News was just sent the following pic from DragonCon by none other than Star-Lord!

As in Star-Lord the cosplayer below in the image.

"Star-Lord" also mentioned that Michael Rooker instantly knew they all were the DnA 2008 Guardians of the Galaxy team, which shows how familiar he is with the comic books. Marvel recently canceled the 2008 version after they received word of the new movie, replacing it with something the fans don't seem too happy with and nixing the super cool costumes in the process.

Michael Rooker posted the image on his Facebook page and added: "Shit, yes! Guardians of the Galaxy cosplayers at DragonCon 2013!"

James Gunn is also familiar with the comic books as Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning (DnA) have visited the set multiple times. Kevin Feige even stated he is aware of the "rabid" Marvel Cosmic fans, a reference to a term coined by editor Bill Rosemann, DnA's editor on Nova, Guardians of the Galaxy and the numerous related Marvel Cosmic comic book events.

Interestingly enough, when asked at Comic-Con which version of Star-Lord Chris Pratt would portray, the actor replied with "my own."

Michael Rooker plays original Guardian Yondu in the film.

You can also check out the DragonCon George Perez tribute featuring Nova as well as more of the cosplayers.

The "Guardians of the Galaxy movie" has an August 1, 2014 release directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer and Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Benicio Del Toro as The Collector, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Lee Pace as Ronan, Djimon Hounsu as Korath the Pursuer, with John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, Glen Close as Nova Prime, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon, and Vin Diesl as Groot.
