Xandar Is Targeted By Ronan In Guardians of the Galaxy Movie
We learn some details about the characters of the Guardians of the Galaxy as Marvel Studios has released official character descriptions.
Most of them we already knew, but Stitch Kingdom has an interesting description for the villain of the movie, Ronan, in that Ronan wants to destroy Xandar, the home of the Nova Corps. We see that much like Loki in The Avengers movie, Ronan also strikes a deal with Thanos.
Nova fans know that Xandar has been destroyed, I think at least three times in the comics.
Will James Gunn destroy Xandar in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie...?
RONAN (Lee Pace)
A Kree radical, Ronan continues to fight an ancient war between his people and the Xandarians. Ronan has struck a bargain with the Machiavellian Thanos — retrieve a mysterious artifact, and in exchange Xandar will finally be eradicated. Ronan leads his army to hunt down Peter Quill and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy when they come between him and his genocidal goal.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" has an August 1, 2014 release.
