It's being stated that X-Men: Apocalypse will focus on the relationship between Mystique and Magneto.
In their report on Jennifer Lawrence's upcoming movies, THR included a tidbit that a source who has read the X-Men: Apocalypse script stated that Fox wants to capitalize on Lawrence's star power.
In fact, Apocalypse is being crafted around Lawrence's Mystique character and Michael Fassbender's Magneto. A source who has seen the script says Fox will take full advantage of Lawrence and Fassbender's star power, placing Mystique and Magneto's romance front and center.
If the info is true, it seems to insinuate that the X-Men characters will take a backseat to Lawrence and Fassbender in the movie, whose characters are actually villains and not considered a part of the core X-Men team.
Does the notion of a romance also insinuate less action?
The report also states Jennifer Lawrence is due to film X-Men: Apocalypse starting this April in Montreal, and Fox will not move the release date (such as to accommodate Lawrence filming other movies).
X-Men: Apocalypse has a May 27, 2016 release.
