Recently there has been mention from a variety of sources (including our own) that a new Batman reboot movie is to be released in 2016.
It's being said that the new Batman will also debut in the upcoming Justice League movie, possibly slated for a 2015 release.
But why wait that long?
If indeed Zack Snyder's new Superman movie, Man of Steel, is spearheading a DC shared movie universe, will the new Batman make his first appearance there?
Already we have had mention of a Wonder Woman cameo or appearance in the Man of Steel. It could be a simple "wink" at Clark Kent in the elevators of the Daily Planet by Diana Themyscira, the C.E.O. of Themyscira Industries (ala defunct NBC series).
So why not Batman?
Think about it.
If we are getting a Justice League movie, what better way to create some hype by having Batman appear. And you wouldn't even need to show an actor in the Batsuit as it could simply be the post-credit scene from a distance.
Regarding whether it's too close to the end of Christopher Nolan's Batman film run with The Dark Knight Rises, we've already been told numerous times by the director as well as the cast that this is the last movie. So we get it, it's done. Now time to move on.
I say, Warner Bros. takes Joss Whedon, Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios and The Avengers head on and goes with some sort of Justice League teaser in the Man of Steel — with Batman.
Because, arguably, there is no superhero bigger than Batman.
