Zack Snyder's recent comments surrounding Batman Vs. Superman are drawing heat around the net as the director basically gave the middle finger to canon and the source material.
While Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige stated to: "have confidence in the characters, believe in the source material, don’t be afraid to stay true to all of the elements of the characters no matter how seemingly silly or crazy they are,” Snyder appears to be going in the opposite direction.
"There are two ways to think about it," Snyder said in a recent interview about Batman Vs. Superman. "We know the material. Unfortunately, the fans don’t know the material. So, we’re casting according to what’s happening in the script. And we’re hoping that leads to enough originality, enough perspective on what we’re doing that you get something fresh and exciting. I understand the canon. I’m not crazy."
Now the investor website the Motley Fool adds their two cents in the following video bringing up various points ranging from Zack Snyder not having Superman save Pa Kent (something he could have done) to killing Zod in Man of Steel.
With Batman Vs. Superman there is also the perceived poor casting decisions regarding Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
It's noted in the video that Batman Vs. Superman does have the potential to do well, but just the same is a huge risk.
"Batman Vs Superman" has a newly announced May 6, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane and Jeremy Irons.
