Robert Kirkman created The Walking Dead ten years ago, a black and white comic book that bucked industry trends with higher sales each subsequent month. In 2010, the TV show debuted on AMC causing the popularity to skyrocket even further, with the subsequent video game achieving $40 million in sales and named the best video game of the year in the Spike TV VGA Awards.
Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic book centers on the survivors of a zombie apocalypse, focusing more on the human aspect and relationships than the zombies that roam about.
The Walking Dead is currently in its third season on AMC and also has a new video game coming out from Activision, with a second series sequel planned from TellTale games as well.
