A couple weeks ago it was officially announced that "Thor 2" would have a release date of July 26th, 2013.
With that, we also learned Kenneth Branagh would be leaving the the director's chair.
The Mighty Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, commented on that fact with the LA Times Hero Complex at the recent San Diego Comic Con.
"I’m really disappointed,” Hemsworth told the Hero Complex. “Ken built that character, and everything I know about the Thor world I learned while shoulder-to-shoulder with Ken. I learned so much from him.”
Branagh will be returning to the British television series “Wallander," and Hemsworth wishes him all the best.
“As long as he’s happy, that’s the thing,” said Hemsworth. “I learned so much from Ken while we built [the first film], so at least I had that time with someone like that. The start of anything creative is the most important period in a way. That’s when the most can go wrong, and Ken made sure we got it right.”
Thor 2 begins filming this may and is due to hammer into theaters July 26th, 2013.
The Avengers assembles May 4th, 2012 and is directed by Joss Whedon, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.
