[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4585:]]Previously we heard from the visual effects designer on the Man of Steel, Joe Letteri, who said that the movie will take us into new territory for Superman.
From there, Russell Crowe, Jor-El, offered that 14-year-old boys will be happy by what they see from his character, most likely hinting at some heavy action-packed scenes.
Now, Letteri, Weta Digital’s Sr. Visual Effects Supervisor, talks again on what he is doing for the film, revealing that Zack Snyder has him working on a specific part of the movie, which will be the beginning, and it seems to be exploding right from the start.
Letteri tells the Collider:
"We are working with Zack on this to just do a piece of the film, so were are really involved more with the early stages of the story, the kind of set up and in a way a sort of Superman's awakening. That gives us a different set of challenges than actually defining his character afterwards. Yes, I can't really speak too much to that side of it for you, with us it's more about setting up the scene."
The Collider then goes on to state that Letteri is more involved with a "spaceship coming to Earth," (Superman's origins), with Letteri confirming.
"Things of that nature. Exactly," he said.
"So you are involved in the first 25% of the movie?" Collider asks.
"Right," Letteri said.
Letteri has worked on the likes of Lord of the Rings, Avatar, and is currently working on The Wolverine, Iron Man 3, the new Hobbit films, and more.
With Letteri saying he's really only involved with the opening 25% of the Man of Steel, we can expect something far different than the Richard Donner Krypton scene from the classics.
Man of Steel flies into theaters June 14th, 2013.
