[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4473:]]The visual effects supervisor on the new Superman movie, Man of Steel, spoke about working with Zack Snyder on the movie.
Joe Letteri told the Wall Street Journal in a video interview that the vision of the movie is driven by Zack Snyder and what he wants to bring to the movie. Letteri's part was setting the scene for what Snyder was envisioning.
Regarding the look of Superman, Letteri compares it to Gollum in Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit in that these things exist in people's imaginations already, and they try to figure out if what they create is what will match up with most people's vision of the character.
Letteri is also asked if there will be a "wow factor" to the movie with Letteri stating that he thinks so, and that "the film has a great look, it just really feels different but in a really familiar way. It's hard to explain. It takes you into new territory, but it's also very comfortable."
