Superman: Man Of Steel (2012): Chicago, Illinois Casting Call Draws Thousands

pic The casting call for Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel that was held in Chicago earlier today drew thousands of people all hoping to score a chance to appear in the new Superman movie.

As with the two previous casting calls in Plano and Naperville, applicants filled out an application and submitted a photo. Those lucky enough to get picked should hear back in about a month or so.

In addition to all the excitement surrounding the Man Of Steel casting call, a lot of super news has been hitting. Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SVU) is said to have a role as a General; Russel Crowe, Jor-El, was spotted in Naperville where he has begun training, and Julia Ormond is said to be playing Superman's Kryptonian mother, Lara.

Superman flies into theaters December 2012 directed by Zack Snyder starring, Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel, Diane Lane as Martha "Ma" Kent, Kevin Costner as Jonathan "Pa" Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as Zod, and Russel Crowe as Jor-El.
