picLegendary creator George Perez has offered us a look at his variant cover to tomorrow's issue of Superman #712.

From the George Perez Facebook Page:

"Since this book will be on the stands tomorrow, I figure it would be okay to finally show my variant cover for SUPERMAN 712, which I dedicated to the memory of a dear friend named Rob Morrisroe who was a lifelong Superman fan. The original art was given to his surviving life partner Scott Mills."

Perez will also be helming the DC Relaunch of Superman with Jesus Merino. Looking forward to that!

I believe this one was written by Kurt Busiek; could be a possible a filler, as it seemed to center on Krypto, and didn't list JMS or Chris Roberson in the credits.

Update: DC scrapped the JMS/Roberson story and replaced it with a "lost story" by Kurt Busiek. Details here.

Update #2: George Perez 'Extremely Upset' Over Superman #712 Change

Update #3: George Perez Superman Variant will used for #714
