Steve Carell's North Korean Thriller Cancelled Due To Terror Threats
Sony recently decided to pull The Interview from its December 25th release due to terror threats, and now it is learned New Regency has pulled the plug on another project that was to be set in North Korea.
Deadline reports the planned movie was being developed by Gore Verbinksi set to star Steve Carell.
The film is described as a paranoid thriller written be Steve Conrad, which was set to start production in March.
The report says due to the current circumstances surrounding the Sony hack and threats, "it just makes no sense to movie forward" and "the location won't be transplanted" in addition to "Fox declined to distribute it."
It's noted Verbinksi has other movies with New Regency they will be developing.
Steve Carell stars in Foxcatcher which is currently in theaters.
