Star Trek Into Darkness App Launches Right In Time For Super Bowl
[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5384:]]Paramount and J.J. Abrams will be debuting a new spot for Star Trek Into Darkness at the Super Bowl, and as we've previously heard, a new App will allow users to access further content.
The new Star Trek Into Darkness App has now been launched and we see off the bat there are a few missions to complete.
Users are to scan various content related to the movie such as the comic book cover to Star Trek Countdown To Darkness #1, a Benedict Cumberbatch image"Harrison's Escape" from Empire Magazine (right), the image of Zachary Quinto in the Volcano and a listen to the trailer.
Users than can create an account to access rewards and such, and there is even a news section as well.
If you are familiar with the Marvel Comics AR App and Shazam it's sort of a combination of both.
Star Trek Into Darkness has a May 17th, 2013 release date in 3D, is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine as Capt. James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as Leonard "Bones" McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Nyota Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov, John Cho as Hikaru Sulu and Benedict Cumberbatch as an unnamed villain.
