The latest script has been given to the studios by writers Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof, who continue to work on drafts.
Orci tells TrekMovie that the script has "been done for a while," and TM reports that they are currently working on the 3rd draft.
TM also states that director J.J. Abrams was spotted in Hawaii scouting locations for a "jungle planet." Also that shooting will take place at a museum in Los Angeles standing in for what is being called a famous Star Trek location.
Regarding the plot, it's being said to be "bigger in scope" than the first 2009 movie.
Look for the as of yet unnamed Star Trek sequel most likely in 2013.
