[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4436:]]Come next June, the Man of Steel will be once again featured on the big screen, but not with Marlon Brando as the father of Superman, Jor-El.
Russell Crowe is filling those rather large shoes this time around, and MTV News caught up with the actor while promoting Les Miserables.
As we have been hearing all along regarding Zack Snyder's new Superman movie, it's going in a different direction than the Richard Donner classics, and MTV notes this by asking Crowe about his approach to the character and if Jor-El is a man of action.
Crowe says that he is getting put on the spot, but does offer "without getting too specific" that "it afforded me the wonderful opportunity to put a specific thing in the minds of 14-year-old boys. That is the bravest thing you can do, the most important thing you can do is love."
Of course, we know the farthest thing from a 14-year-old boy's mind is "love," and while we don't think Jor-El will be with all the Kryptonian ladies, certainly Russell Crowe must mean his character will kick some butt.
And if Zack Snyder's previous statements about his Superman kicking ass are anything to go by, it looks like it's "like father like son."
There's also been mention of a Krypton War with advanced weaponry as well, which Jor-El may be involved with.
Man of Steel flies into theaters June 14th, 2013 directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill as Superman, Michael Shannon as Zod, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Kevin Coster as Jonathan "Pa" Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha "Ma" Kent, Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, Antje Traue as Faora and Aylet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van,.
