Kuurth, Breaker of Stone, walks towards Utopia, slowly, steadily and unstoppable. Nothing can slow his march, plan after plan crafted to hinder the Serpent's Worthy has failed. Man's fear of mutants has escalated to heights never seen before, and everything Scott Summers has worked so hard for — may be destroyed before his very eyes. Unless, possibly, one last ditch effort can produce something, or someone, as unstoppable as Kuurth — a veritable Juggernaut of their own!

Kieron Gillen has created an ominous, unnerving tale woven in the threads of Fear Itself. He has crafted an overwhelming feeling of dread and despair since he has taken over the book, and it is pitch perfect for the tone presented throughout the Marvel U. right now. But this isn't just a story about how the Juggernaut walks to Utopia to eventually slaughter his enemies, this is a story about the fear that resides in the hearts of our characters and how they deal with it. It is a very character driven story filled with choices, ones that could weaken the bonds between some heroes, and others that may transform them into something stronger than they could ever imagine. From Cyclops vigilant resolve to Emma's decision regarding Hope, and finally one hero's choice to save them all — this book left me in awe over how good an X-Men tale can be!

Kieron Gillen has impressed me each and every month! He has become a writer that brings excitement and realism to every page, while forever evolving the characters to new heights. Between Greg Land's spectacular art and Gillen's smart and exciting stories, there is no team that I would rather have on this book as it comes to it's devastating conclusion!

No matter how great the other X books are right now, and there are a bunch that are outstanding, this is the book that every X fan NEEDS to own! You will not believe what transpires from cover to cover, and you definitely do not want to miss the crushing conclusion! If you want to be an amazing artist — copy Greg Land. Want to be a great writer? Forget about it, and read Kieron Gillen's Uncanny X-Men! It will save you a lot of frustration down the road!
