Marvel Cosmic dreams came true last night at the San Diego Comic-Con when it was revealed that the Guardians of the Galaxy would becoming to a movie theater near you on August 1, 2014.
But that's not all as Marvel Studios also revealed Guardians of the Galaxy concept art featuring the likes of Drax, Groot, Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon and Gamora.
Now we know exactly which team Marvel will be going forward with, the most recent of which formed after the events of Annihilation: Conquest and was brought to us by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, along with superstar artists such as Paul Pelletier and Brad Walker.
For readers of Cosmic Book News, speculation immediately began, including with yours truly, with fans on our Facebook questioning, "Where the heck was Adam Warlock?!"
And of course, then there is Nova - Richard Rider - the cosmic space cop who patrolled the spaceways in his own Marvel comic book of the same name that was a sister book to Guardians.
For answers, there has already been rumor of a Nova appearance (and what are those "stars" in the concept art?!), and regarding Adam Warlock — could it be we simply haven't seen the entire team?
Or going one step further — will an Adam Warlock Easter egg be the post-credit scene to the Guardians of the Galaxy movie in the form of a cocoon leading into Avengers 2?!
While there are no details known about the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, it's theorized the rag tag bunch of space defenders will be battling the likes of Thanos, of course who made an appearance at the end of The Avengers.
It will be interesting to see what Marvel Studios does with the Guardians of the Galaxy movie: Will the movie be set after the events of The Avengers?
And what other cosmic Easter eggs would you like to see?
