I'm losing count how many actors are rumored for the lead role in Doctor Strange, but the latest is said to be Colin Farrell and Justin Theroux.
Now it's even being said not to rule out Joaquin Phoenix, after the actor apparently bowed out of talks.
According to The Wrap, Collin Farrell and Justin Theroux are the latest names to be looked at by Marvel Studios to play Doctor Strange.
It's said in addition to Phoenix, Benedict Cumberbatch is another person not to rule out and is high on the list.
Earlier in the week also saw mention that Keanu Reeves is a fan-favorite choice to play Doctor Strange, and according to the report, Marvel is considering him now, too.
Regarding Joaquin Phoenix having second thoughts, it's speculated that Robert Downey Jr. recently signing on for Captain America 3 may have swayed Phoenix into reconsidering Doctor Strange.
Other actors mentioned for the role include Ryan Kosling, Oscar Isaac, Jared Leto, Matthew McConaughey, Ewan McGregor, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ethan Hawke and even Tom Hardy, who looks to be signing with WB for the Suicide Squad flick.
Doctor Strange has a July 8, 2016 release directed by Scott Derrickson with a script by Jon Spaihts.
