A previous set of rumors surrounding Star Wars: Episode VII mentioned that not only was J.J. Abrams thinking of leaving the franchise (which another rumor refutes), but that the movie might have a December 2015 or even 2016 release date.
An official release date for Star Wars: Episode VII has yet to be announced, with the previous movies having the coveted month of May release.
Now a reporter from Variety is stating there is no truth to the December 2015 rumors.

We'll have to wait until Disney officially announced the release date, but it is being speculated that due to no news coming out of the San Diego Comic-Con and the recent Disney D23 Expo that something is up. Of course, that could be J.J. Abrams being his regular secret self, but there is also the fact that The Avengers 2 has a May 1, 2015 release date which Disney may not want to get too close, to.
