It's learned the next X-Men movie will be without Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

Larry King recently interviewed Patrick Stewart and asked the first Professor X if he was going to be in X-Men: Apocalypse, which comes out in 2016.

"No," Stewart responded. "Nor is Sir Ian McKellen, either. I was learning quite a lot more about it last night, and it is going to be looking very much at the earlier lives of all our characters. And so I don’t think we’ll be making an appearance."

Yahoo got a first peek at the interview with Stewart from Larry King, with their article also noting that Patrick Stewart hasn't rules out being a part of an X-Men spinoff film like Deadpool or Gambit.

X-Men: Apocalypse has a May 7, 2016 release directed by Bryan Singer starring Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as Magneto and James McAvoy as Charles Xavier.
