[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5017:]]The latest Marvel NOW! teaser features big purple letters that spell "Birth," that is from the creative team of Jason Aaron and Simon Bianchi.

Could this be for a new Thanos series?

Of course we know that Thanos hit the big screen with the mid-credit scene in The Avengers movie.

We also know that he is going to be featured in both the upcoming James Gunn directed Guardians of the Galaxy movie as well as The Avengers 2.

And Marvel also previously tried launching some sort of Thanos origin story previously, which really made no sense according to Thanos creator Jim Starlin. Marvel ended up pulling it -- for whatever reasons.

Perhaps Marvel went back to the drawing board and is relaunching it?

There is also the fact that Marvel never touched upon (surprise) the fact that Thanos seemingly perished with Star-Lord and Nova in DnA's hit mini, The Thanos Imperative, but appeared in Bendis' Avengers Assemble. Is Aaron touching upon that?

The previous Thanos ongoing (2004) was actually a big seller at the time, coming in at #5 for Marvel's best selling books of the period; however, editorial (surprise) got mixed up with Starlin with the book eventually canceled at #12, with Giffen leading it into Annihilation.
