As most agreed while watching The Avengers movie, and also with the new concept art, the original Joe Johnston Captain America uniform was more universally pleasing to the eye.
Now a new rumor says that in Captain America 2, Steve Rogers will be returning to that costume.
It's noted the concept art version is Captain America's S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform, and some point in the sequel, Steve Rogers breaks into the Smithsonian to retrieve his original suit.
This is Cap's S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform (obviously) but for circumstances unknown (either it getting destroyed or Cap hating it), at some point in the film, Steve breaks into the Smithsonian and steals back his 40's uniform. So for all of us that loved the Johnston suit, Captain America will be back in it by the end of the movie. Sort of takes the sting away from this lameness.
The Russo Bros. are directing Captain America: The Winter Soldier which has an April 4th, 2014 release date and stars Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.
