When you think of Star-Lord from the Guardians of the Galaxy, only one actor comes to mind — Nathan Fillion.
Nathan Fillion has been our choice for a while now to play Marvel's equivalent to Han Solo; he's got the look and the attitude.
Of course, Fillion played a similar-type character with Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds in Joss Whedon's sci-fi classic television series, Firefly.
Now we hear from Nathan Fillion about the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and he also happens to be good buddies with director James Gunn as well.
Speaking with MTV News at the recent Toronto Film Festival, Fillion starts off by saying that he had dinner with Gunn who told him all about it.
"We had dinner the other night and he told me all about it, before everyone found out," Fillion said. "I was on the inside on that one. Over some toro, tuna belly, we discussed how excited he is, how nervous he is, but how he wanted it very badly. He wanted it very badly. I think it's in very capable hands. I think it's in the right hands. Having worked with the man, I know what he's capable of."
[[wysiwyg_imageupload:3092:]]MTV then goes right to it and asked Nathan Fillion about Star-Lord, pointing out that many fans want the actor for the role of Peter Quill. Fillion doesn't say he is not playing the role, but tends to beat around the bush.
"When my friends have fantastic news like that I don't take the opportunity to say 'so what about me.' I'm very busy with a job that I'm very grateful for, I can't really shake a stick at it, and I've made a commitment and I got to see it through and I'm really happy to. I've worked a long time to be on a television program that's has some level of success, and I've gotten more than I can shake a stick at with Castle. At this point it's hard to see say 'give me more.' "
We think fans would disagree on you with that last statement, Nathan.
So, if not Nathan Fillion for Star-Lord, who? Chris Pine? Sounds off in the comments below.
