[[wysiwyg_imageupload:2915:]]Michael Shannon attended the recent Toronto Film Festival promoting his upcoming movie, The Iceman, where the actor also spoke about the new Superman movie, Man of Steel.
As we've heard through rumors and such, there seemed to be other actors in contention for the Zod role, as Michael Shannon notes it took him a while to get the job.
"I was a jump for me, because that's such a huge responsibility in such a big film," Michael Shannon said of playing the Kryptonian General Zod in the new Zack Snyder directed Superman movie, Man of Steel, reports TBNewsWatch. "I was suspicious of it originally and it did in fact take a while for me to finally get the job — a lot of people had to sign off on it."
Shannon continues noting that he was even taken back at being picked for the iconic role, but once he got it, was very pleased.
"It wasn't something I pursued necessarily, it kind of just surprised me. But once I finally got the job and started working on it I was very happy to be doing it," he said.
Michael Shannon, who recently had only good things to say about fellow co-star, Superman Henry Cavill, as well as describing the Man of Steel movie as "mind blowing," now says the movie is going to be a "blockbuster."
"I'm sure excited for it to come out because not only will it be a blockbuster, but I think it's going to be a really great movie."
