Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may have its first superhero in the form of Rage from the New Warriors.
It's being speculated that the "super secret" role for J. August Richards is Elvin Daryl Haliday aka Rage from the Marvel Comics.
In the comics, Haliday was exposed to toxic chemicals which gave him enhanced strength and invulnerability, with his grandmother encouraging him to use his powers for good.
His powers grow as his rage increases; hence the name.
Rage also butted heads with Captain America and The Avengers, questioning why there were no black superheroes on the team.
The S.H.I.E.L.D. trailer shows J. August Richards jumping out of a building saving someone as well as taking out a criminal.
One other theory is that the character in question could be Luke Cage as the power man was a part of the defunct ABC Jessica Jones series; however, a Twitter user spotted the following marvel comics bumper that played in front of the S.H.I.E.L.D. trailer:
S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesday nights at 8pm ET this Fall on ABC.
