Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. will feature Bill Paxton in an arc said to last at least four episodes beginning in later February or early March.
Update: Marvel confirms Paxton will appear on the March 4th episode.
TV Guide gives us our first look at Bill Paxton as Agent John Garret, who in the Marvel Comics becomes a cyborg to save his life.
Executive producer Jed Whedon offered:
"We wanted to bring in a rough-and-tumble former cohort of Agent Coulson with a little bit of attitude and cigar-smoking swagger. When Garrett got his promotion to Level 7, he refused to sit behind a desk and doesn't like the formalities of S.H.I.E.L.D. He's going to help Coulson solve some mysteries and is not afraid to rig an explosive or two."
Executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen added:
"[Agent John Garret] comes into the fold in a very surprising way. He is the type who wants to stay out in the field no matter how high-level he gets."
Bill Paxton is known for numerous roles including Aliens, Apollo 13, Hatfields & McCoys and 2 Guns.
Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 8pm ET on ABC.
