Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 Rumored For PlayStation Experience Event

Creator Ryota Niitsuma recently took to Twitter for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3's fifth anniversary to state that a Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 is not happening.

However, now Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 is actually rumored and may be announced as early as next Saturday (and interstingly enough Niitsuma's Twitter account has gone silent).

The rumor comes from the Neogaf forums where it's said Capcom will announce Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 on Saturday, December 3rd at the Playstation Experience. Apparently, Capcom realizes that Marvel is "all the rage" right now and feels people will "flock to" a new Marvel fighting game. In addition, the following images have hit the net said to be leaked teasers for Marvel vs. Capcom 4. To be clear, these could always be fakes, so bear that in mind.

Regarding a potential Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 video game, I really hope Capcom decides to give it a go. I loved the first game which featured lots of different characters on both sides, including Richard Rider Nova, and Rocket Raccoon from Abnett and Lanning's Guardians of the Galaxy that inspired the James Gunn movie. I do hope that if Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 does get made, it will feature Marvel characters not from the new comics (the cruddy replacement characters), but the classic and more popular versions of the characters that most fans know and love. In addition, I also hope Capcom uses ALL the Marvel characters, and not just the Marvel characters whose movie rights are owned by Disney (ie Galactus movie rights are owned by Fox Studios).

Hopfully the Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 rumor is legit. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
