No real surprise here with Matt Fraction taking on both the Marvel NOW! Fantastic Four and FF books, but Defenders will be ending in November.
The news came attached to the big announcement that Fraction, Bagley and Allred will be on the new FF books, via USA Today.
While discussing the new team members for FF (Ant-Man, She-Hulk, Medusa, Miss Thing), USA Today let it be known about the Defenders demise.
She-Hulk has a pedigree with the team since she has been a member of the Fantastic Four, plus she'd be Ben's pick because she's "the one person he knew he could never lick," says Fraction, who writes Red She-Hulk in Defenders, which ends its run at issue 12 in November.
One possible plus with the ending of the Defenders, is that it could free up characters like Doctor Strange and the Silver Surfer.
With a possible Doctor Strange movie in the works, as well as possibly Marvel Studios seeking the rights to Silver Surfer from Fox Studios, we know that Marvel would be launching new series to go along with the new movies.
