The latest issue of Empire Magazine, which comes out Thursday, has a featured article on the new Superman movie, and EmpireOnline has been posting some excerpts.
Last time, director Zack Snyder seemingly hinted at a Man of Steel sequel, and now we get what looks to be an Easter egg in the movie.
If you recall from the latest trailer we saw what looked to be a standoff between the military, Superman, Zod, Faora and the Kryptonians.
Snyder says that is exactly what it is, and it's being called "The Battle Of Smallvile."
"It's a Western face-off," Snyder told Empire. "[Zod and Faora and the rest of the Kryptonian invasion] care very little for Smallville's iconographic status. We're being really hard on the town: this battle needed to be dangerous."
We also learn the following details, which includes mention of the Easter Egg:
• The shoot took nine days to complete
• It's the first major conflict in the movie and the town of Plano Illinois, plays Smallville, Kansas
• The mayor even gets a cameo
• Look out for a particularly oh-my-god-I-can't-believe-this-is-happening bank teller
Any ideas who the bank teller could be?
Man of Steel opens June 14th in IMAX 3D directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Michael Shannon as Zod.
