If you recall, the Man of Steel trailer #3 revealed a "wild west" showdown between Superman and the Kryptonians with director Zack Snyder describing it as "The Battle of Smallville."
Now we get to take a peek at that through the Man of Steel: Superman Saves Smallville children's book.
The third trailer did give us a look at numerous Kryptonians when Zod was getting sent (assumed) into the Phantom Zone.
Now the book reveals one of the Kryptonians to be named -- Nam-Ek.
In the comics, Nam-Ek gets into trouble when he captures a Kryptonian beast that has healing powers. Nam-Ek cuts off its healing horn, makes a serum, and injects himself with it which mutates his body. Well, he gets sent to the Phantom Zone, survives the destruction of Krypton, and when he is freed he is known as The Antibiotic Man.
Of course, we don't know how much Zack Snyder is going to follow the comics, but a pic from the Plano, Illinois set did reveal Faora with "Mo-Cap Man," an actor in a motion-capture suit that looked to be really tall.
The Antibiotic Man has purple skin with a huge protruding horn and unleashed an alien plague.
A newspaper article in Lois Lane's apartment mentions "a poisoning of the Metropolis area by an unknown contamination."
I don't know if that is exactly what happens in the movie, but from the book it suggests the presence of Nam-Ek - aka The Antibiotic Man - in the Man of Steel.
Man of Steel opens June 14th in IMAX 3D directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Michael Shannon as Zod.
