The previous promo image featuring Henry Cavill as Superman for the Man of Steel has now been released in a new larger and wider form, and with that we get a brief new synopsis.

The new image now reveals more of the military as well as a better look at what exactly is going on: We see Superman in front of a barrier with the Military behind him.

Superman could either be looking at General Zod, or as some super fans have even thought, Lois Lane.

The image comes to us from Warner Bros. France who has included a description for the image and a short synopsis for the Man of Steel revealing that Superman must choose to save the Earth from total destruction as well as the question if the Military is for or against our hero.

It's the first we have heard of the world itself being in dire peril, and may also give us a clue to Zod's true intentions.
