Live-Action X-Men TV Series Being Planned
Fox is planning a new TV series based on the X-Men.
THR reports that sources have filled them in that Fox is in preliminary conversations to adapt the Marvel Comics' X-Men comics and feature film franchise, with 24 producers Evan Katz and Manny Coto involved.
It's also said the live-action X-Men series is being written by the Star Trek 3 writing duo of Patrick McKay and JD Payne.
While Fox owns the film rights to the X-Men, apparently Marvel and Disney would need to sign off, according to the report, which means the deal is far from being done.
It's unknown if Fox would create a shared movie/TV universe similar to Marvel and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or go a different route such as DC is doing with their separate movie and TV universes.
Fox has Deadpool coming out next February, X-Men: Apocalypse coming out next May and plans for Wolverine 2 and a Gambit movie.
