[[wysiwyg_imageupload:6138:]]I seem to recall that when the Marvel NOW! titles were announced, EIC Axel Alonso was taking digs at DC Comics for their creative changes, stating something to the effect that the Marvel Now! creators were on for the long haul.
Well, with his most recent column over at CBR, Axel Alonso is asked about the future of Leinil Francis Yu on the Indestructible Hulk.
Alonso doesn't specifically state Yu is off Hulk, just that "Leinil will be back…on a top-secret project."
The Indestructible Hulk #1 debuted at around 115,000, with its February #4 issue down to 56,000.
Interestingly enough, when Alonso announced a new artist coming on board Guardians of the Galaxy for an "arc," Alonso didn't state what issue McNiven was getting replaced at, but we're assuming #4 as the same artist is doing the cover. It wasn't stated if McNiven was coming back.
In related news, a fan asked about the original Guardians of the Galaxy returning and the fact that DnA included them in their 2008 run, which brought him/her back to comics after a 10+ year hiatus.
Seems at this time there are no plans for that.
"I don’t know that we can help you with the 'want more now' part, UGF, but we’re all fans of that that classic team," Alonso responded. "At the moment, we’re focused on the modern-day team, but who knows what could happen in the future?"
Interesting response as Alonso told me personally at the 2011 NYCC that they were fans of Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy -- and we know how that turned out.
