As we get closer to the release of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, more information has been hitting the net regarding the villain of the movie, Ronan, played by Lee Pace.
Ronan happens to be one of Thanos' henchmen in the movie, reportedly seeking the Infinity Stone, and it's previously been said Ronan is participating in an ancient war between his people, the Kree, and Xandar, home of the Nova Corps.
Now Lee Pace offers that Ronan seems to be on more of a Holy War as the actor compares Ronan to an Osama Bin Laden. Via Yahoo:
You don’t even see my eyebrows! It’s covered up with that black ceremonial paint. He’s like Osama bin Laden – he’s like a religious fanatic. It’s so cool. When in my life did I think I’d be playing a character like this? When I got the call about this, I was like, “What? OK, OK… I’m in.” I’d auditioned for Star-Lord, and then Chris obviously got the part… and then they called my agent and said, “We have another part for him!” So I quickly put that on tape and Ronan worked out.
Lee Pace even hinted at Ronan's motivations in the latest issue of Total Film magazine:
He passes judgment. The only thing he values is the strong. Anything that's weaker is annihilated. He's the Accuser of the Kree. He passes judgment. He's got a code he is trying to live by. This is a spiritual mission.
Also, as Cosmic Book News told you (spoilers), there is a pretty big ending planned for Guardians of the Galaxy of which Lee Pace recently teased:
There will be a little something special at the very end of the movie... very special. But that's all I can say about it. I'm not sure we're even going to have it at the premiere so it's not spoiled online for everyone seeing the film opening night.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" has an August 1, 2014.
