Check out what Kevin Feige had to say about Black Panther, who will first appear in Captain America: Civil War, played by Chadwick Boseman, prior to the 2018 standalone movie.

Via the latest issue of Empire Magazine:

“The one is important. Not only do you get an unbelievable lead character, but you also get all of Wakanda which is a whole new setting and culture to explore.

It’s a big geo-political action adventure that focuses on the family and royal struggle of T'Challa in Wakanda, and what is means to be a king. T'Challa’s story is very important to us as it links to the next Avengers films, which is why we brought it forward.”

It's also noted that Feige said Black Panther will have a "primarily African-American cast."

Black Panther hits February 16, 2018 and marks the last Marvel Phase III movie prior to The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1.

Captain America: Civil War lands May 6, 2016.
