[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5868:]]Guillermo Del Toro has given an update on the status of the "Justice League Dark" movie that is set to see the more supernatural characters of the DC Comics universe hit the big screen.

Speaking with Total Film, Guillermo Del Toro let it be known that he will be presenting the "Justice League Dark" movie to Warner Bros. and that they already have a writer attached. Del Toro states he can't say much more about it, but does hope it happens, and that "it's like meeting old friends" in regards to the DC Comics characters, The Demon Etrigan, Swamp Thing and Deadman.

Yeah, I am going to be presenting my storyline to DC and Warners of where I want to take this universe. We do have a writer, but until that is firmed up, I have to keep it a secret. I hope it happens. It's going really really well. It's like meeting old friends. I grew up with Demon Etrigan, with Swamp Thing, with Deadman, so these are characters that are near and dear to my heart.

Whether or not his "Justice League Dark" movie will be in part based on the New 52 DC Comics comic book of the same name is unknown as Guillermo Del Toro sidestepped the question, offering that he would "love to do the origins that are proper to the character."

I'd love to use the origins that are proper to each character. I love the idea of Jason Blood as a paladin and a knight…. I love the entire Constantine mythology, the Dead Man mythology, the Alex Holland Swamp Thing mythology. These are really rich things to well, and to dig.

News of "Justice League Dark" going forward comes at an interesting time as recently it was stated that the fate of the Justice League movie rests on the success of Zack Snyder's Man of Steel.

A recent forecast predicted the Man of Steel to top $700 million at the box office with new Superman Henry Cavill strongly hinting that the Justice League movie is a go, so hopefully this would mean good things for Guillermo Del Toro as well.

Perhaps the notion that Warner Bros. is interested in even looking at a JLD movie means the Justice League movie is moving forward as planned.
