Joseph Gordon-Levitt, one of the hottest actors in Hollywood, has accepted the lead role in Sin City 2 and has passed on the Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
Deadline reports Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play the lead role of Johnny in Sin City 2, a part that was previously offered to Johnny Depp. He joins returning cast members Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Bruce Willis and Rosario Dawson, along with newcomer Dennis Haysbert.
Regarding the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, it's said that talks between Gordon-Levitt and Marvel Studios have come to an end with Marvel now focusing on the other candidates for the role of Star-Lord, with names including Zachary Levi and John Krasinski.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt's popularity is at an all-time high as he comes off three popular movies including The Dark Knight Rises, Looper and Lincoln, and will also be hosting the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has an October 14, 2013 release date and is being directed by Robert Rodriquez and Frank Miller, also starring Jessica Alba.
The Guardians of the Galaxy movie has an August 1, 2014 release date and is directed by James Gunn.
