Jim Starlin Rebuts Thanos In The Avengers 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Claim
[[wysiwyg_imageupload:7259:]]Jim Starlin is the comic book creator of the post-credit villain that was featured in The Avengers movie.
Back in September, a fan spoke to Jim Starlin at the Montreal Comic-Con who confirmed that his Thanos would be used in The Avengers 2 as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
12 days before that, Jim Starlin revealed he was in talks with Marvel about something, with it thought the topic in question was the rights to Thanos.
Now, 7 months later, Jim Starlin says he didn't exacty state that.

Setting the record straight: It keeps getting reported that I claimed that Thanos will be in both the upcoming Guardians of the Universe and Avengers II movies. Sort of true but not really. All I said, in some interview way back when, was that I had heard (as in convention scuttlebutt) that the Titan would be in both movies. I have absolutely nothing to do with Marvel films and not all that much with Marvel Comics. So I am no reliable source to quote on anything to do with what's happening in any future Marvel film.
However, the fan responded to Starlin stating the writer did mention to him that Thanos would be in both movies.
i was the fan that spoke to mr Starlin last year at a comic con (by the way he was extremelly nice). Although you did mention he would be in both movies it was obvious you had limited knowledge and we never discussed in what capacity marvel had plans...it coud have been cameos only. it is also possible marvels plans have changed since then...mr Gunn was hired after we briefly talked and rewrote the script since then. marvels avengers 2 script was also not written until earlier this year. i just want to say i didnt want to cause you any headackes...i love your work!
Regarding Thanos, two days after we reported The Avengers 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy movie news, Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige said there are plans for the Mad Titan.
"Clearly, there's a purpose to us putting him in the end of that [The Avengers] movie. We do have plans for him," Feige told MTV News, with MTV noting that the fans thought the next appearance of Thanos would be in The Avengers 2 and the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Feige continued, "I wouldn't say we ever feel the need to rush anything one way or the other. We succeeded in Phase One because we stuck to our guns and stuck to the plan. That plan took place over many, many years and it ultimately paid off. I see Phase Two unfolding in the same way of us taking our time, us doing what's right for each individual movie, while folding in elements that will not only build up to the culmination of Phase Two, but even Phase Three.
