The Associate Editor, Jim Gibbons, from Wizard Magazine has been let go.
This came across my desk earlier today, as news about Wizard's latest employee release was made known late last night.
Not sure what is going on with Wizard as there has been mass exits as of late, but a trip to my local comic shop a couple weeks ago made me realize something is definitely amiss (or even more). The latest issue of Wizard is a shadow of its former self. I remember back in the day this was the must have for all your comic book news. With the advent of the internet, Wizard Magazine seemed to dwindle in popularity as sites such as CBR, Newsarama and numerous others began to sprout.
Wizard would no longer get the "scoop" as the internet enabled live news reports and updates daily.
In my opinion, I would blame Wizard's approach to comics as another reason for its decline as they continually made fun and poked at fans and comics.
I enjoy comic books and don't want to feel like I shoud be reading them in my mom's basement.
