Recently, Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemons was rumored to be in talks for a lead role in Star Wars: Episode VII, and now it is learned that the rumors are true as director J.J. Abrams has confirmed the news as well as stating the script is complete.
Though Plemons himself recently denied involvement in Star Wars: Episode VII, albeit without a straight face, J.J. Abrams says he is going to meet with the actor.
Abrams appeared at the recent TCA panel where he mentioned Plemons.
"He is one of the actors that we’ve talked to, yeah,” Abrams said, as reported by The Wrap. “But, you know. It’s not often that I read about actors that I’m going to be meeting … that I get to read articles about actors who are going to come in. And so I get to see someone and say, ‘Oh, I read that I’m going to see you.’ … It’s usually agents talking to people about what’s happening. It’s a lot of noise."
Regarding the script, Abrams says they are moving ahead.
"We’re working really hard and we’ve got our script and we’re in deep prep,” Abrams said. “Full steam ahead, y’know."
"Star Wars: Episode VII" has a December 18, 2015 release.
