Marvel Studios recently announced five more release date for untitled movies, which brings the total to seven.
It's possible one of those movies could be Guardians of the Galaxy 2, assuming the movie does well enough to warrant a sequel.
And that's the conundrum presented to James Gunn as if the movie does really well, he says he will director Guardians of the Galaxy 2; however, if it does just okay, he has already been offered other movies.
Gunn appeared on the Adam Corolla Show talking about the potential to direct the sequel:
I’m actually in a somewhat weird position. Because if the movie does well, then I’m gonna make the sequel. And if it does okay then, well, I’ve already been offered other movies but I can only do those other movies if I don’t do the sequel, so it’s a weird situation.
Another hot topic amongst comic book fans is that Marvel Comics announced a new female Thor (as well as a new Captain America and Superior Iron Man). Gunn offers his thoughts on the new Thor as well:
I love weird fetishes. I’m very interested in people that have weird fetishes. And one of the things that if you search it on the Internet, there’s a lot of people…and I’m not saying Marvel is servicing this weird fetish. But there’s a whole like huge collection of pornography that is about switching one sex of a character into another sex of a character, mostly switching males into females. And for some reason that turns people on, and I can’t really understand why you want to see the female Spider-Man and then f--- her.”
"Guardians of the Galaxy" has an August 1, 2014 release.
