When set images from Iron Man 3 first hit the net revealing the Iron Patriot armor, it was thought that the actor inside was James Badge Dale.
Images showed a white guy in the guise of the Iron Patriot armor.
However, reports surfaced that the actor inside was just a stunt double filling in for Don Cheadle, who decided to take the day off.
Now, Vulture caught up with James Badge Dale before the recent New York Comic-Con and spoke with the actor.
"The great thing about my costume in Iron Man is that it's very low-pro," Dale told Vulture, and clarified his character, Eric Savin, is based on Cold Blood. "It was very confusing, because I was in Albequerque filming The Lone Ranger, and people were calling me going, 'Yo, dude, I saw you on the Iron Man set!' And I was like, 'Brother, I ain't even shown up yet. I'm still in the desert, riding horses.'"
The Lone Ranger actor continues with mention Shane Black's tone for Iron Man 3.
"The tone of the film is very particular, very offbeat, very out-there," Dale offered.
Iron Man 3 blasts off May 3rd, 2013 directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle.
