A horrible disruption in the Zombies vs. Robots (ZVR) universe explodes across the realms of IDW Publishing’s four premier licensed lines — Star Trek, Transformers, Ghostbusters, and G.I. Joe – with Infestation! With so many fan-favorite properties involved, it should come as little surprise that Infestation #1, the opening chapter of IDW's first-ever multi-title event, has sold out. In order to meet demand, IDW has announced it will go back to press to offer Infestation #1 Second Printing Variant.

“The response to Infestation has completely exceeded our expectations,” said Chris Ryall, IDW Chief Creative Officer and Editor in Chief. “This project has been in the works for years and it’s very regarding for all of us at IDW to see it getting such a positive response.”

Written by Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning (DnA) and illustrated by David Messina, Infestation #1 serves as the opening to a series of two-issue stories running in each of the impacted books from January through April, when Infestation #2 will bring the crossover story to a close.

"This is definitely one of those 'there's no way they'll ever do this' kind of events," said Ryall. "But not only are we doing something fans never thought they'd see, we're doing it in a way that should confound and exceed their expectations. And doing it with real pros like Abnett and Lanning just makes it that much sweeter, especially knowing what they've got planned as a follow-up to this event.

"We've found a way to involve all of these diverse titles in a massive storyline that has ties all the way back to the early days of IDW," continued Ryall. "I think fans will be amazed by what we've pulled together here, as well as the stories that will come out of this once-in-my-lifetime event."
