Guardians of the Galaxy Passes Cap 2; 3 Biggest Marvel Movie
Thanks to a great opening in China, Guardians of the Galaxy has now become Marvel Studios' third best movie.
Guardians of the Galaxy has netted $69 million in China, which gives it a total gross of $732,636,000 passing by Captain America: The Winter Soldier's $714,083,572.
Guardians of the Galaxy is also the #4 movie of the year overall, just shy of passing X-Men: Days of Future Past by about $14 million for the best grossing comic book movie of 2014 as well.
Currently, Transformers: Age Of Extinction ($1 billion), Maleficient ($757.2 million) and X-men: Days Of Future Past ($746.0 million) are ahead of Guardians this year for worldwide box office gross.
Iron Man 3 ($1.2 billion) and The Avengers ($1.5 billion) are at the two top spots for the Marvel Studios movies to date.
Domestically, Guardians of the Galaxy is the best performing movie with $327,836,000 million.
Marvel has given Guardians of the Galaxy 2 a July 28, 2017 release which will see James Gunn return to direct.
