Guardians of the Galaxy continues to soar through the spaceways as the movie has just passed the $700 million mark.
Thanks to a record opening recently in China, the James Gunn-directed Guardians of the Galaxy movie is presently at $705 million worldwide.
The U.S number for Guardians has the film at $326.7 million.
Guardians of the Galaxy is now considered the #2 "superhero origin" film domestically, trailing the 2002 Spider-Man movie by about $75 million.
Likewise, the film is currently the #8 grossing superhero movie in the U.S., with Guardians of the Galaxy hot on the heels of Spider-Man 3, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man. The Avengers, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises and Iron Man 3 are at the top four spots.
Guardians of the Galaxy also has the third best gross to date in the past year, with Frozen and last November's The Hunger Games being the only two movies grossing more in the U.S.
Guardians of the Galaxy is #4 worldwide among the Marvel Studios movies, with it looking to pass Captain America 2 soon (Avengers and Iron Man 3 are Marvel's two best).
